FormaCare strengthens exchange with industry in Brazil
Lars Eric Johansson, the Chairman of FormaCare, spoke at the Brazilian formaldehyde producers’ association’s – Associação Brasileira dos Produtores de Formol e Derivados (ABRAF) – annual General Assembly meeting in Brazil on 17 September before close to a hundred industry representatives. Next to FormaCare in Europe and the Formaldehyde Council (FCI) in the US, ABRAF in Brazil is the third association of its kind worldwide.
Lars Eric provided an update for our partners in Brazil with regard to our group’s past, current and future activities in Europe. He explained the specific nature of the various regulatory developments and new initiatives by the European Commission. Next to REACH there are other fields in which the EU is very actively working on or planning new provisions that affect our industry in Europe. Of course, the formaldehyde industry in Brazil is very interested to understand the European situation and our industry’s response to it.
FormaCare will make sure that this exchange with industry-partners in other parts of the world remains one of the priorities of our group’s work. As global markets are more and more affected by global regulation, it is absolutely essential to engage in an open dialogue with the formaldehyde industry everywhere to ensure a coordinated approach based on common objectives and knowledge-sharing.
